The XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) score and percentile are both important aspects of the XAT exam, which is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to its management programs and other associated institutes. The XAT score and percentile are used to evaluate a candidate’s performance in the exam relative to other test-takers. Here’s what each term means:
- XAT Score: This is the raw score a candidate obtains in the XAT exam. The score is usually calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. Each question may carry different marks, and there could be negative marking for incorrect answers. The raw score is used as the basis for further calculations.
- Percentile: The percentile indicates the relative position of a candidate’s score in comparison to the scores of all other candidates who took the same exam. It is a measure of how a candidate performed in comparison to the entire pool of test-takers. For instance, if a candidate’s percentile is 80, it means they scored better than 80% of the candidates who took the exam.
