XAT 2025: A Rigorous Test with Verbal and Decision-Making Challenges
The XAT 2025 exam has cemented its place as one of the most challenging editions in the test’s history, with a notable rise in length for the Verbal and Decision Making sections. However, the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI) section remained consistent with the trends of previous years, offering a mix of standard and data-driven problems.
The Verbal section was exceptionally tough, featuring five lengthy RC passages, parajumbles, verbal reasoning, and a new image-based question. A poem and grammar-based questions added to the pressure, making time management a key challenge.

DM section proved arduous, with lengthy scenarios requiring nuanced judgment and careful evaluation of complex options. This section pushed candidates to their limits, making it a key differentiator this year.

QA & DI section in XAT 2025
In contrast, the QA & DI section maintained its traditional difficulty level, providing some relief. Data Interpretation included diverse question types: a table-based DI, a caselet, a time-and-distance-based DI with graphs, and a line graph DI featuring two diagrams. These sets required logical analysis and quick calculations, but were manageable for well-prepared candidates. Basic Quantitative questions were dominated by Arithmetic topics, with problems on percentages, profit and loss, ratios, and time and work forming the core.
